A Window to Indi's House!

Meet one of our favourite customers, 2 year old Indi! (Yes, yes..that's right! Another favourite! They’re all our favourites! Cause Hey! Nobody ever said we could only have one!!) Madam giggles and her mum had a ball showing us all her fabulous things! Indi’s Mum describes her décor for Indi's room as Eclectic, Cheap and Cheerful she says they’re addicted to Ikea’s affordable and clever storage solutions and Swedish design, combined with an eclectic mix of one off vintage treasures – many from My Messy Room! Indi’s favourite things at the minute are; la-loons, party-cakes, ice-kweems, and cuggles! – Still working on the pronunciations of some of them! But if it were up to her mum she’d stay that way forever! Just too darn Cute! Oh and her Dobbin and Drum Teepee – The perfect hiding place for cheeky little Indians up to mischief!

Rubbergob arrives to store!

New cards and invitations from Rubbergob arrived today and we couldn't be more delighted with them! They are modern but kinda retro too, dont you think?

The girls behind Rubbergob are Rachael Barkess, Graphic Designer and artist and her business partner Janine Finnie. They have a 2 bird company that produces designs and illustrations for all sorts of surfaces and products.

I'm kinda chuffed too that we are the only kids store in Sydney to stock them....until others find out about them of course!

Look Who's Turning One!

We've come along way baby! Our little shop My Messy Room has turned One! My gosh, how fast time flies when you're having fun, one whole year since our store Opening! Yet this place feels so familiar that it feels like it always was. I almost can't remember what life was like before My Messy Room! But hey isn't that what any parent says about their baby's first birthday! What a wonderful year it's been, thankyou to all our lovely customers who pop in to the store - we have had such a warm response from you all, and truly love having met so many lovely Summer Hill families!

My Very Messy Room

Our Very 1st Post!! Hello!

I couldnt begin my blog without sharing with you this book that a friend and supplier Emma from hazyjane gave me. It's called My Very Messy Room by Elizabeth and Henry Stanton 1978. Emma found it at a book sale near her home.

How apt is the title for me and my little store! I think the little girl even looks a little like me as a child, with her long straight hair, no fringe and very orange skivvy!! And soooo our 'My Messy Room' colours! Ironic!
